He’s a nice horse. It might not have been the greatest renewal of a Grade 3 but for his first day he jumped well. He was a little bit big and slow early on but the further he went the better he got. It would have been nice if we’d got more experience into him. I thought we’re getting on in the year and we’d pitch him in at the deep end. If he didn’t win he’d be a novice next year. He’s in the Triumph but I don’t know if he’ll go there. If he had a bit more experience he would but it is what it is at this stage. The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident between the second last and last hurdles involving Bottler'secret, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed first, Pacini (GB), ridden by Sam Ewing, placed second, and Trustyourinstinct, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed third, where it appeared Trustyourinstinct had to check off heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. W. Flanagan stated that his mount jumped right and he took him back to his racing line. Sam Ewing stated that his mount jumped slightly right and then he went back to the inside line. S. D

Torrens stated that his mount is an awkward ride and when he switched out it over exaggerated the manoeuvre but the riders in front of him were clear of him at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted

S.D. Torrens, rider of Trustyourinstinct, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly and was a difficult ride.
