The Stewards interviewed W.J. Lee, rider of Champagne Or Water, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(e), in that he used the whip in an area other than the hindquarters or on the shoulder and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day. C.D. Hayes, rider of Penny Pepper trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran off the first bend.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards fillies only that are EBF eligible (95 = 9st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 95 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 95 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 95 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
