An impressive victory here by Jimmy Ber who carried the familiar colours of Hardy Eustace to victory in this maiden which would have to look an average enough affair on the basis of how easy he won. Six-lengths was the winning margin at the death from Horner Woods a newcomer to the hurdling ranks after his winning bumper start last month.

Jimmy Ber jumped well and asserted from his rivals in good fashion to entitle him to take on a winners of one next time around but the quality of his rivals would have to be questioned.

Horner Woods should come on for his first experience over the sticks and after being prominent early he lost his place briefly before staying on out of the chasing pack.

Vintox was another who was relatively inexperienced compared to the winner and his last run saw him finish nine lengths adrift of Aranleigh back in November and chasing may be his game.

One to take note of was Artic Sand who was having his first run for winning connections and he ran on well from the back to take fourth spot on what was also his first start over hurdles having been pulled up in two bumpers last season.
