The winner, Penny Pot Lane (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Pontefract on 10 June 2019, where the mare finished sixth of eleven, beaten by 11 ½ lengths.
Richard Whitaker’s explanation that the mare was suited by the application of first time cheek pieces was noted.
Penny Pot Lane (GB) was routine tested.
Approximately 4 furlongs out, a free running Arogo (GB), placed eighth, edged left onto Carlovian (GB), placed seventh, which in turn turned the quarters of Jan Van Hoof (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
