An enquiry was held to consider why Michael Scudamore was running Kingswell Theatre (GB) here at Ffos Las on going described as Good, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Ayr on 13 April 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that, having walked the course and spoken to a number of riders who had ridden at Ayr earlier in the day, in his opinion the track was riding faster than the official description.
Following the race, Bob Buckler reported that Regal Flow (GB), which started second favourite and finished last of the six runners, had a breathing problem.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the winner, Pobbles Bay (IRE), during routine testing, revealed the gelding had lost its left fore shoe.
