Alesandro Volta, King Of Rome and Moiqen made three in line a furlong down as Hebridean came from the back to close rapidly but it was Moiqen who quickened up best of all to land the spoils by a length.
Described as "the best I have," by his trainer it shows the high regard in which he is held and Prendergast went on to say, "It was a bit dead out there for him and he will be a better horse on better ground."
Settled in third for most of the ten-furlong journey it was just inside the final 200 yards in which he forged clear from Hebridean who met one more resilient on the day.
It may have been no coincidence that the best of the O'Brien trio was Hebridean who had the benefit of a run under his belt already this season although Johnny Murtagh was able to offer a slight insight to his experience of Alessandro Volta.
Murtagh said the his mount had slipped on leaving the stalls and that the saddle slipped slightly and he was uncomfortable on him throughout the race. The pair finished fourth and a report from the Turf Club Vet found him to be Post Race Normal.
Unwritten Rule, the course and distance winner got up by a shorthead earlier in the month but failed to build on that here while King Of Rome stayed on at one pace having set out making the early running.
The winner is among the list of Epsom Derby entrants and that wasn't ruled out by his trainer who will decide more after speaking to the owners and the Derrinstown Derby Trial was also mentioned.
