Permission was given for Caviar Royale (GB) to be mounted on the course and go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider why once the tape had been released a further 27 seconds had elapsed before the runners began to race.
Ben Poste, the rider of SANTANI (GER), placed second, Sean Bowen, the rider of STATURIO, placed third, Charlie Hammond, the rider of Last Chance Paddy (USA), unplaced, Harry Skelton, the rider of the winner, Longhouse Sale (IRE), Gavin Sheehan, the rider of Weapons Out (FR), placed fourth, and James Davies, the rider of Caviar Royale (GB), unplaced, were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
They all stated that they had been instructed to drop in and take a lead.
Their explanations were noted and they were reminded of their responsibilities to begin the race once the Starter’s flag has dropped and the tape has been released.
