An enquiry was held to consider why Peter Bowen was running Montanna (GB) here at Ffos Las on going described as Soft, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Wetherby on 2 November 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that the ground at Wetherby had deteriorated throughout the two-day meeting, with Montanna (GB) declared to run in the final race, and with the ground at Ffos Las not having had as much racing on it and therefore, in his opinion, being fresher he was happy for the gelding to take its chance.
