Rob Hornby, the rider of Jouska (GB), was unseated shortly after the start.

Hornby; Clifford Lee, the rider of Ainsdale (GB), unplaced; Silvestre De Sousa, the rider of Bielsa (IRE), unplaced; Kevin Stott, the rider of Magical Spirit (IRE), placed second and P J McDonald, the rider of Rhythm Master (IRE), placed third, were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.

Graham Lee, the rider of Teruntum Star (FR), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not to be involved in the interference.

Stott was suspended for 10 days for careless riding as he had angled his mount right-handed towards the centre of the track into a tightly packed field when insufficiently clear of Rhythm Master (IRE) forcing the gelding onto Ainsdale (GB), which in turn was crowded onto Bielsa (IRE), causing that gelding to be tightened for room and shift right-handed into the path of Jouska (GB), which was carried onto and clipped the heels of TERENTUM STAR (FR), resulting in Hornby being unseated.

For some distance approaching 2 furlongs out, Magical Spirit (IRE), placed second, hung persistently right-handed despite its rider’s best efforts crowding Rhythm Master (IRE), placed third, onto a weakening Black Friday (GB), unplaced, which was crowded for racing room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Magical Spirit.

Approaching the final furlong, Magical Spirit (IRE), placed second, edged left-handed at the same time as the winner, KING’S LYNN, shifted slightly right-handed causing the runners to make slight contact, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it that it had not improved the placing of King's Lynn (GB).

Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Punchbowl Flyer (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.

William Haggas’ representative reported that Tarhib (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft, and which in her opinion was particularly testing on this occasion.
