An enquiry was held to consider interference which occurred over some distance between the 2 furlong and 1 furlong markers involving Strong Glance (GB), placed third, ridden by Daniel Muscutt, Tiger Jet (IRE), placed second, ridden by Ben Robinson and the winner Auriferous (IRE), ridden by David Probert.
The interference was found to be accidental in that initially Strong Glance (GB) was racing tight to the inside of Tiger Jet (IRE), before Auriferous (IRE) lugged slightly right-handed crowding Strong Glance (GB) for room, which in turn caused it to make contact with Tiger Jet (IRE) which became unbalanced as a result.
Latterly Auriferous (IRE) which was racing greenly again hung right-handed before being quickly corrected by its rider hampering Strong Glance (GB), which in turn slightly inconvenienced Tiger Jet (IRE).
Following the race Ben Robinson, the rider of Tiger Jet (IRE) placed second, reported that the pin came out his stirrup leather approximately 1 furlong out, which caused him to become unbalanced when losing his right-iron for a number of strides.
The stirrup leather was inspected post-race and as it was found to be in a serviceable condition, no further action was taken.
