The Stewards informed Michael Mulvany, trainer, that Red Heel, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again
The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the delay to the start of this race and why Papal Parade was led to the start without the permission of the Stewards. Evidence was heard from Mr. D. Cullen, Starter, Ms
Tracey O'Meara, Clerk of the course, P. F. O'Donnell, Trainer, and T. E. Whelan, Rider. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations given but they advised P. F. O'Donnell to seek permission to go early if needed in the future
T.E. Whelan, rider of Papal Parade trained by P.F.O'Donnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he had no option but to lead his mount to the start.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 45-70
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs
