An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the line when the winner Prince Kayf (GB) ridden by Craig Nichol, interfered with Imperial Alcazar (IRE), placed second, ridden by Paddy Brennan, and Espoir De Romay (FR), placed third, ridden by Ned Curtis.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Prince Kayf (GB) as the interference took place shortly before the line, with the winning distance of 1 length being greater than the ground or momentum lost by Imperial Alcazar (IRE) or Espoir De Romay (FR).
The Stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
Nichol was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left for a considerable time after the last hurdle without sufficient correction, causing increased interference to Imperial Alcazar (IRE) and Espoir De Romay (FR).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Duc De Grissay (FR), placed fourth, lost its right fore shoe.
