Permission was given for Natacata (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Pop The Champagne (FR) to go early to post wearing a red hood and be mounted on the chute.
Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, the winner, Zivaniya (GB), stepped quickly right-handed making contact with Natacata (GB), placed second, causing the filly to become slightly unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Zivaniya (GB).
The winner, Zivaniya (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 27 January 2024 where the gelding finished ninth of ten, beaten by 10 lengths.
Hugo Palmer’s representative’s explanation that the gelding was dropped in on this occasion to help Zivaniya (GB) settle and also benefitted from the first-time application of a tongue tie was noted.
