The winner, DE RASHER COUNTER, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Exeter on 7 December 2018 where the gelding finished seventh of the twelve runners, beaten 24 ½ lengths over two miles three furlongs. Emma Lavelle's explanation that DE RASHER COUNTER was suited by the step up in trip on this occasion, was noted.
Nicky Henderson reported that ONEFITZALL (IRE), which was pulled up, bled from the nose and WENYERREADYFREDDIE (IRE), placed seventh, was unsuited by the soft ground and would prefer a faster surface.
