Permission was given for The Lir Jet (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider why Michael Bell was running The Lir Jet (IRE) here at Newmarket on going described as Good, having declared the colt a non-runner at Doncaster on 11 September 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that he felt that The Lir Jet (IRE) would be better suited running over 6f on Good ground today, compared with 5f over drying Good ground at Doncaster, so was happy for the colt to take it chances today.
Following the race, Frankie Dettori reported that Method (IRE), unplaced, was running freely causing his saddle to slip forward badly.
