Permission was given for Ever Given (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Pogo (IRE), ridden by Kieran Shoemark, interfered with Sunray Major (GB), placed second, ridden by James Doyle.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Pogo (IRE)’s placing as Sunray Major (GB) appeared to lose little momentum or ground as a result of the interference and thereafter the colt had failed to make ground on Pogo (IRE) on the run to the line, with the distance between the two runners at the line 2 lengths.
The interference was found to be accidental as Pogo (IRE) had shifted quickly right-handed before being swiftly corrected by Shoemark, resulting in Sunray Major (GB) receiving a light bump and being taken briefly off its intended line.
