An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final ½ furlong involving Masterpainter (IRE), placed third, ridden by Connor Beasley and Leap Year Lad (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Tom Eaves, with the beaten margin a short head.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Masterpainter (IRE) as although Masterpainter (IRE) had hung right giving a slight bump to Leap Year Lad (IRE), this had caused no significant loss of momentum or ground.
The interference was found to be accidental as Masterpainter (IRE) had hung right despite Beasley’s best efforts to correct his mount.
Following the race, Tom Eaves reported that Leap Year Lad (IRE), placed fourth, hung left and ran wide on the bend.
Sean Kirrane reported that Valstar (IRE), placed fifth, was never travelling and Trevor Whelan reported that Racing Demon (GB), placed sixth, hung right.
