The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Coreczka, ridden by T.P. Madden, unplaced, Black Agnes, ridden by S.B. Kelly, placed fourth and Pirolo, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed second, where it appeared that Coreczka ran short of room and stumbled. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Whelan was in breach of rule 214 by riding carelessly and therefore suspended him for 2 racedays. The Stewards requested a report from Peter Fahey, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Missguided, placed first, as compared with its recent run. Ronan Shortt, authorised representative of Peter Fahey, reported that no abnormalities were found after her last race in Naas on 20th June and in his opinion today's better underfoot conditions suited his filly better than the quicker ground at Naas. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
