Conor O’Farrell, the rider of the winner, Le Cheval Noir (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from approaching the third-last hurdle.
The winner, Le Cheval Noir (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Haydock on 20 February 2021, where the gelding finished fifth of eight beaten 29 lengths.
The representative of Rose Dobbin explained that the gelding may have benefitted from the drop in class on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Le Cheval Noir (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, Le Cheval Noir (IRE), had bled from the left nostril.
