Permission was given for Bronze River (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries which was removed at the start.
1 furlong out, the winner Make My Day (IRE) lugged sharply right before being immediately corrected causing Glasses Up (USA), placed second, to be carried slightly off its intended line.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Make My Day (IRE).
The performance of Multellie (GB) which finished unplaced, was considered.
It was noted that Tim Easterby could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
