Park Aux Boules on just his second run in two years, landed this handicap in which the handicapper is set to be a happy man with so many of these runners being in contention in the closing stages.

Trained by John McConnell, the winner was forced to run in a conditions race at Dundalk last time out due to his rating, where he finished nine-lengths behind the 106 rated An Tadh.

Back in handicap company here he was always prominent under Dusty Foley and stayed on gamely to score by half a length. A similar contest over five or an easy six is on the agenda reported the trainer who feels there could be more improvement to come.

In winning by half a length, Parc Aux Boules foiled a gamble on the second horse Grigorovitch who was backed from 16/1 into 8/1.

Liam McAteer's charge was always prominent and just failed to get passed the resistance of the eventual winner. A promising run over six behind Mojito Royale at Dundalk was obviously the reckoning behind the gamble and the extra furlong may well be required. Incidentally Grigorovitch was taken to the start very slowly by Kevin Manning.

Over The Tylerly is beginning to return to the form which saw her finish third, beaten a neck and a shorthead by Sheer Silk at the Curragh last October, while top weight Point Calimere put in a good performance under 10 stone.

It wasn't a fruitful day for the Ger Lyons team and Romeo's On Fire never landed any sort of a blow here.
