An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the 2 furlong marker when Billy Roberts (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Phil Dennis, interfered with the winner, Glen Esk (GB), ridden by Jack Mitchell.
Dennis was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed Billy Roberts (IRE) to edge right-handed without sufficient correction, causing Glen Esk (GB) to be carried slightly off its intended line.
Approaching the final furlong marker, the winner, Glen Esk (GB), drifted left-handed at the same time as Mr Coco Bean (USA), placed third, edged marginally right-handed, causing the rider of Billy Roberts (IRE), placed sixth, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Glen Esk (GB) or Mr Coco Bean (USA).
