An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final half furlong when the winner, Kerosine Light (IRE), ridden by Peter Kavanagh, interfered with Bright Sunbird (IRE), placed second, ridden by Tabitha Worsley.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Kerosine Light (IRE)’s placing as, in drifting right-handed on the run to the line Bright Sunbird (IRE) had been carried off its intended line for several strides by Kerosine Light (IRE), which as a consequence cost the mare ground, with the distance between the two runners at the line being a head.
The Stewards therefore revised the placings as follows: First, Bright Sunbird (IRE); Second, Kerosine Light (IRE); Third, Zumbi (GER).
Kavanagh was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to hang right-handed without sufficient correction, causing Bright Sunbird (IRE) to be carried off its intended line.
