The Stewards interviewed H. Morgan, rider of Pat Coyne, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, H. Morgan stated that his charge was wearing cheek pieces but he looked at the stable yard when landing over the last fence and he gave him one flick for corrective purposes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that H. Morgan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended H. Morgan for three racedays

An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards rated 0-102
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
Riders - Confined to Professional & Claiming Professional Riders who have not ridden more than 15 winners under any N.H. Rules from 3rd May, 2020 to 3rd June, 2021 inclusive. (Qualified Riders are excluded from riding in this race)
