An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on two occasions after jumping the last fence involving the winner Seaston Spirit (GB), ridden by Aidan Coleman and The Two Amigos (GB), placed second, ridden by Matt Griffiths.
The first incident was found to be accidental as Seaston Spirit (GB) edged right-handed at the same time as The Two Amigos (GB) shifted left-handed causing the pair to come together.
The placings were considered for the second incident on the run to the line when the winner Seaston Spirit (GB) interfered with The Two Amigos (GB), placed second.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Seaston Spirit (GB)’s placing as The Two Amigos (GB) was carried only slightly off a line and lost no momentum as a result of the interference, with the winning distance being ½ length.
The placings remained unaltered and Coleman was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction.
