The Raceday Stewards interviewed C.L. Walsh, rider of Bronson In Blue, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he had used his whip unnecessarily and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C.L. Walsh was in breach of Regulation 10. 3(b)(unnecessary use after chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone). Having taken his clean record in this regard into account, they suspended him for two racedays
