An enquiry was held to consider why Samuel Drinkwater was running Russian Service (GB) here at Chepstow on going described as Heavy, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Hereford on 19 December 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that Russian Service (GB) has had an issue with its legs in the past and with the ground at Chepstow, in his opinion, being less poached and jarring than at Hereford, he was happy for the gelding to take its chance on this occasion.
