Permission was given for DEB’S DELIGHT to go early to post.
A query was raised to consider why Richard Fahey was running DEB’S DELIGHT here at Pontefract on going described as Soft, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Redcar on 03 October 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer’s representative stated that having walked the track on both occasions, in his opinion the going at Redcar was riding softer than officially described and they were happy for DEB’S DELIGHT to take his chance today following two drying days.
The winner Tom Collins (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 28 August 2020 where the colt finished last of five runners, beaten by 7 lengths.
David Elsworth explained that the colt benefitted for being ridden with more restraint on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Tom Collins (GB) was routine tested.
