The Starter reported that Longhousesignora (IRE) had been very reluctant to jump off.

The representative of Venetia Williams and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.

The representative was informed that any future similar behaviour from the mare may result in her being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.

An enquiry was held following a report from the Starter that the representative of Venetia Williams had failed to obey his instructions at the start and had failed to comply with the Starting Procedures Code, in that, in order to ensure a fair start for all participants, Trainers and their Representatives must not in any way encourage their horse to jump off.

The representative and the Starters were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.

The Starter reported that, prior to the start of the race, he had instructed the representative that he should not attempt to encourage his horse to start in any way.

Having heard their evidence, the Stewards found the Trainer’s Representative in breach of Rule (F)6 in that he had not obeyed the starters instructions and encouraged his horse to start despite being instructed not to, and fined him £140.
