I was a bit worried, to be honest, that he might not be fit enough and he probably did need it a bit. Sean said he gave a nice blow turning in,. Simenon ran a bit of a downer. If he jumped a little bit better it would be a big help. He misses the odd one and tends to leave his hind legs in them. He's a fair horse, just the same, over that trip. I had intended running him on the Flat but when it looked like this race would cut up I decided to have a go. I think that probably his next run will be on the Flat. There is a Flat maiden at Navan over two miles we could have a cut at. We could also look at Listowel but the 1m6f race might be a bit too short. Noel Meade, trainer

R. Walsh, rider of Simenon, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise in running. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Simenon, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal(samples taken for analysis).

A hurdle race for four yrs old and upwards
Weights - 4-y-o 10st 7lb; 5-y-o & up 11st; Mares allowed 7lb
Allowances - Horses that have not won a hurdle race before 3rd May, 2015 allowed 4lb
Penalties - (to count from 3rd May, 2015) Winner of a hurdle race 5lb extra; Of two hurdle races or a hurdle race value E12,000 or more 10lb extra; HRI Directive 6 (ii) (b) is suspended for the purpose of this race.
