The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Newcross, ridden by P.J. Smullen,unplaced, Giorni Felice, ridden by R.P. Downey, placed first, Winston Wolfe, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, World Stage, ridden by D. O'Brien, placed fifth and Our Anniversary (FR), ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed fourth, where it appeared interference may have occured causing Our Anniversary to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings, however found R.P. Downey to be in breach of rule 214 in that he rode carelessly. Having considered R.P. Downey's record in this regard they suspended him for 2 racedays. The Stewards informed Tracey Collins, trainer that Grand Armada (GB), would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
