An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding the failure to deploy the black and white hazard flag after TORNADO IN MILAN (IRE) had fallen at the third fence and sustained a serious injury, the subsequent lack of adequate screens and that a member of the racecourse groundstaff had run acros the path of ATLANTIC STORM (IRE) while the gelding was still to complete the race. The Clerk of the Course representing the Racecourse Executive, a member of the Racecourse groundstaff, the Veterinary Surgeon and riders Adam Wedge, Micheal Nolan and James Best were interviewed. Having heard their evidence, the Stewards ordered a report to be forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
