The performance of Shockwaves (GB), which started second-favourite and finished sixth, was considered.
The representative of Hughie Morrison’s explanation that the colt was unsuited by the Soft, Good to Soft in places ground on this occasion and would prefer a faster surface, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer subsequently reported that a post-race examination of Shockwaves (GB), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Eikonix (GB), placed fourth, hung left-handed and Trevor Whelan reported that his saddle slipped on Fresh Fancy (IRE), placed fifth, and the filly also ran too free.
