Permission was given for Ink Master (IRE) to go to post early and to be mounted on the course.
An enquiry was held to consider why Micky Hammond, was running Alderbrook Lad (IRE) here at Cartmel on going described as soft, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Cartmel on 20 July 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer’s representative stated that she felt the gelding would handle the ground better over the shorter trip on this occasion.
The winner, Ardera Cross, appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Perth on 14 July 2019 where the gelding finished fourth of seven, beaten 31 lengths.
William Young Jnr’s explanation that the gelding was suited by the sharp track and having the run of the race was noted.
Ardera Cross was routine tested.
