he had his ground, had his trip and Donagh (Meyler) gave him a super ride. He probably got in there to one or two a bit close but he got there. We'll keep him going. We'll have to have a look at the book and make a plan then for two or three weeks time. I was worried about him getting his head in front too quickly but in fairness to him he did well.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home involving Lucky Pat, ridden by D.N. Russell, Empresario, ridden by R.P. Treacy, and Swantykay, ridden by D. Meyler, where it appeared Lucky Pat and Empresario ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. Thomas Gibney, trainer of Balnagon Boy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was found to be lame post race.
