Prior to this race, Neil King's representative was asked to explain the reason why he was running LITTLE WINDMILL (IRE) here at Plumpton on going described as Soft, having reported that the gelding would prefer a faster surface following its run on Good ground at Taunton on 29 November 2018. King's representative explained that on reflection, the ground at Taunton, although officially described as Good, was affected by a heavy rain shower prior to the race. He added that having walked the track today, he feels that the ground is suitable for LITTLE WINDMILL (IRE), who has a good record at Plumpton, and is happy to let the gelding take its chance. The Stewards noted his explanation.
