An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the back straight involving Chandon Elysees (GB), unplaced, ridden by Danny Brock; the winner, Mac Mccarthy (IRE), ridden by Sean Davis and Foreseeable Future (FR), placed fourth, ridden by James Sullivan.
Both Davis and Brock were cautioned for careless riding; Brock for allowing his mount to roll left-handed and Davis for allowing his mount to move right-handed into the racing line of Foreseeable Future (FR), causing Sullivan to run out of room and take a check on the gelding.
The winner, Mac Mccarthy (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Newcastle on 17 November 2020 where the gelding finished twelfth of thirteen runners, beaten by 16¼ lengths.
The representative of Ruth Carr explained that the gelding had settled far better into the race on this occasion and further to this, they felt that the yard was in better form at present.
Her comments were noted and Mac Mccarthy (IRE) was routine tested.
