Permission was given for Flag Flying (GB) to go early to post.
The Starter reported that Vindobala (IRE) had refused to race.
Sam England was interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
As the mare had also refused to race at Musselburgh on 25 July 2023 and at Newcastle on 3 November 2023, its behaviour was referred to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Having reviewed the start the Stewards were satisfied that Vindobala (IRE) had refused to race and was deemed to be a runner.
Approaching the final furlong, Khathak (GB), placed second, lugged left-handed causing Open Choice (USA), unplaced, to be slightly eased, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Khathak (GB).
On the run to the line, the winner, Star Shield (GB), lugged slightly right-handed, brushing Hortzadar (GB), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Star Shield (GB).
