The Stewards interviewed Edward Lynam, trainer, in relation to the late arrival at the start of his charge Not Your Call. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he had instructed the rider to trot to the start if he was not confident that he could hack down as this animal can be free. He accepted that this may have contributed to some of the three minute time delay to the start of this race and acknowledged that he could have availed of a facility to leave the parade ring early if he had made this request. Evidence was also heard from Apprentice Jockey R.P. Downey and Turf Club Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards advised Edward Lynam to adhere to correct procedures in the future to avoid a recurrence of this situation.

Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 80 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 80 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
