Callum Shepherd, the rider of Laxmi (IRE), placed seventh, had appeared to ease his horse prematurely.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Shepherd’s explanation that he had been concerned that Laxmi (IRE) had caught the heels of the horse in front and therefore felt it prudent to ease the filly down in the closing stages was noted.
Following the race, Liam Jones reported that Symphony (IRE), placed fourth, ran too freely, Callum Shepherd reported that Laxmi (IRE), placed seventh, was denied a clear run and Sean Levey reported that Lexington Palm (IRE), placed sixth, hung left-handed in the home straight.
