Permission was given for Never This Way (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post; for Better (IRE) to go early to post; and for Howzak (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The winner, Azucena (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Redcar on 17 September where the filly finished seventh of ten runners, beaten by 6 ¾ lengths.
It was noted that Ann Duffield could offer no explanation for the filly’s improved form.
Azucena (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Dougie Costello reported that Better (IRE), placed fourth, was slowly away; James Sullivan reported that Never This Way (IRE), unplaced, reared as the gates opened, resulting in the gelding being slowly away; and Rhys Elliott reported that Street Life (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
