D.N. Russell, rider of On Fiddlers Green trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake. The Stewards interviewed J.S. McGarvey, rider of The Gatechecker, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10. 3.(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his clean record into account, cautioned him regarding his future whip use. The Stewards interviewed B.J. Geraghty, rider of Riviera Sun, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found B.J. Geraghty in breach of Reg. 10 3.(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his clean record into account the Stewards cautioned him regarding his future whip use. The Stewards interviewed S.W. Flanagan, rider of Net D'Ecosse (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Regulation 10 3.(f) by using his whip with excessive force and frequency and having taken his previous record into account suspended him for two race days. The Stewards interviewed D. Meyler, rider of Phil's Magic, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found D. Meyler in breach of Reg. 10 3 (f) by using his whip with excessive force and frequency and Reg. 10 3 (e) by using his whip on a place other than on the shoulder or hind quarters and having taken his previous clean record into account suspended him for three race days. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined On Fiddlers Green, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

An extended handicap steeplechase for four yrs old and upwards (135 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall; not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase or steeplechases after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
