The Veterinary Officer reported that Red Inca (GB), trained by Con Rutledge, had arrived on course without the required Health Declaration Form.
The gelding was withdrawn by the Stewards.
Permission was given for Sam Cavallaro (IRE) to be mounted in the chute; The Winningtipster (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
The performance of Gustave Mahler (IRE), which started favourite and finished last of the five finishers, beaten by 41 lengths, was considered.
Alastair Ralph’s explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the ground, which was officially described as Good to Soft, Good in places on this occasion following rainfall earlier in the afternoon, and would prefer a faster surface, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Gustave Mahler (IRE), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Western Dream (GB), which was pulled up, lost its right fore shoe.
