The winner Contingency Fee (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 18 November 2019 where the gelding finished sixth of the twelve runners, beaten by 21 lengths.
Phil McEntee’s explanation that Contingency Fee (GB) was able to gain an easy lead from a wide draw and was able to dominate in a small field, on this occasion, was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Alistair Rawlinson reported that Restive (IRE), which started favourite and finished second, hung left-handed throughout and Kieran O’Neill reported that Apache Blaze (GB), placed fifth, also hung left-handed throughout.
