It was a low-grade race and she had a good run at Newcastle the last day. I was hoping it wouldn't be too soon for her but it looks like she stays and we'll try and find something similar for her next. It is easier to win races in Britain; she was second in a maiden hurdle in Newcastle when she wouldn't get into the first 15 in a maiden hurdle here. It was even proven today as she had finished second in that maiden hurdle but only just won from 83 today. It was great to win with her and I have 10 or 12 for the winter. J A Nash, trainer

Brown, rider of Ask Mary, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that O. R. Brown was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered O. R. Browns record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays
