Permission was given for Mellys Flyer (GB) and Lordsbridge Boy (GB) to go early to post and for Lordsbridge Boy (GB) and Devil's Angel (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Mellys Flyer (GB), compared with its previous run on 20 May 2022 at Catterick, when the gelding finished seventh of seven, was considered.
George Scott’s explanation that the gelding had benefitted from a break and a step up in trip to 6 furlongs from 5 furlongs, was noted.
Following the race P J McDonald reported that DEVIL’S ANGEL, placed fifth, was restless in the stalls.
