The Stewards interviewed C.P. Hoban, rider of Hat Alnasar, concerning his use of the whip inside the final 150 yards of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that C.P. Hoban was in breach of R10(3)(a) by hitting his horse in front of the saddle while the whip was held in the forehand position and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (95 = 9st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 95 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 95 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
