- Stewards Report
Whitefeathersfall (IRE) reared and slipped over in the parade ring, unseating its rider.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and the Doctor at the start, both the colt and rider were deemed fit to race.
The winner, Caio Shark (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Beverley on 11 May 2021 where the colt finished seventh of twelve runners, beaten by 12½ lengths, and was reported to have been unsuited by the Good to Soft ground, which in their opinion was riding softer than described.
The representative of Michael Bell reported that although the going on this occasion was officially Soft, Good to Soft in places, it had been drying out rapidly from declarations and Caio Shark (IRE) had benefitted from his two previous race starts against this inexperienced field, whilst also appearing to have been suited by a step up in trip from 5 furlongs to 6 furlongs and 212 yards.
His explanation was noted and the colt was routine tested.
Following the race, Jane Elliott reported that Lordman (IRE), unplaced, hung sharply right-handed when leaving the stalls, losing a significant amount of ground as a result.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Sea King (GB), unplaced, lost its left-fore shoe.
