The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of Tiktok Time to the start having been last to leave the parade ring and then trotted all the way to the start. D. Marnane, Trainer, stated that his filly is very difficult to handle and they had planned to leave early but there was numerous troubled horses at the exit to the parade ring, and one in particular which had reared up unseating her rider. Upon seeing this he asked L.T. McAteer to take another turn to avoid his filly getting unruly. L.T. McAteer stated that he was instructed to take a turn and let the horses in front of him off in an effort to keep his mount relaxed. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards reminded D. Marnane that as per Rule 148(f) it is his responsibility to ensure his charge is at the start on time. Furthermore they advised him to seek permission in future to let his charge go to the start early as a similar circumstance may see his charge withdrawn at the start.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stage involving American In Paris, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed first and Teddy Boy, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Edward Lynam, who accompanied J.J.G. Ryan. J.J.G. Ryan stated that he met with interference from the winner, felt he may have clipped a heel and had to switch direction before staying on close to the line. J.M. Sheridan stated that his mount moved around in the closing stages, but was well clear of Teddy Boy and had caused him no interference as he was too far behind him at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted that Teddy Boy had to switch direction, but were not satisfied that he had clipped a heel as they felt the winner was sufficiently clear at the time. They therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action as they were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred.

Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
