The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Wooster, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Miss Colleen Murphy, regarding the failure of C. O'Donoghue, rider of Misty Mountain (USA), placed third to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that it was a lapse on his part and human error. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C O'Donoghue was in breach of Rule 131(iii) and 230 (ii) and therefore suspended him for 5 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. Furthermore Misty Mountain was disqualified in accordance with the provision of Rule 230(ii). Amended result: Boom Or Bush, placed first, All Of Me (GB), placed second, Lady Clinch, placed third, Buffalo Blues, placed fourth and Wooster, placed fifth.
